Bright and floral Birthday card – Easy peasy

Natalie EllisBlog

This is the first card I have made in ages! The last time I made some cards was at Christmas and let me tell you, it took some time to get going. However, I had a good rummage around my craft room and came across a beautiful paper pad that I bought from ‘The Works’ last year.

This beautiful background paper was definitely an inspiration for a more simple card and be the star of the show. It’s so dainty and colourful it’s just perfect for little girls, friends, mums and grandmas.

First, I mounted the paper onto black card to give it some contrast; the colours popped out even more which was just what it needed.

Then, I found some little white, paper flowers in my embellishment draw and wanted to colour them to match the background paper. One colour sang to me more than the others, which was the yellow-mustard. I took my alcohol markers and found just the colour I needed to match. Perfecto!

For the sentiment, “Happy Birthday”, I cut a strip of white card and stamped the sentiment onto one end. Again, I mounted that onto black card and stuck that down with some 3D foam to give it some depth and interest.

To finish, I glued down the flowers around the sentiment and used some tiny silver gems to give it some bling. Gotta love a bit of sparkle eh?

I hope you love this card as much as me and maybe it gives you some inspiration to make your own just like it. So thanks for stopping by and I will post again soon. Sending crafty love, Nat x
